A letter to my other NV Senator--John Ensign

I can't bring myself to even name Pelosi's counterpart in the Senate.  Anyway, I wrote to Senator Ensign this morning about Sonia Sotomayor, and what Republicans can expect from Republican voters.  Apparently, Sen. Ensign has not yet informed his staff of his position on Sotomayor.  For what it's worth:

Dear Senator Ensign,

THIS IS VERY LONG; HOWEVER, I RAISE VALID POINTS.  MY CONCERNS ARE NOT TRIVIAL, AND I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD READ IT.  IT IS FAR SHORTER THAN ANY BILL, SO PLEASE TAKE 5 MINUTES.

Sir, I am completely opposed to Sonia Sotomayor becoming a Supreme Court Justice.  I am no lawyer, but the positions she has taken and the statements she has made would disqualify her from even serving as a JURIST.

Sotomayor believes that the court is where policy is set.  Oh, I heard her trying to make light of the statement, how she should never say this, especially since it was being recorded, that "of course we don't do that," and chuckles from the audience!  Because she, and the audience she was speaking to, in fact BELIEVE it!

Sotomayor's statement that "a wise Latina woman, with her rich life experience, would make better decisions than a white man who has not lived those experiences."  HOGWASH.

On the contrary, someone with that attitude is unfit to be a judge.  A judge is supposed to weigh facts, evidence, and be guided by the US Constitution, NOT her life experience, nor the life experience of anyone else.

It is not her job to rewrite the US Constitution to suit her "life experience," or make changes based on her agenda or personal opinion.

I heard an attorney state that Sotomayor is in violation of the American Bar Association's Code of Conduct for Attorneys.  Many of her decisions have been overturned.

I have presented several reasons to question Sotomayor's suitability for the US Supreme Court.  The Senate should be researching her, and asking questions, LOTS of them.  Why is it that Republicans just let all this go by?  They seem to be quivering like jellyfish, when threatened by the Obama Administration.  What are they afraid of?

They should be afraid of Republican voters!  Because, when we see our representatives wimp out and cave--ooo--if we question Sotomayor, if we question or criticize Obama---ooo---people will say we are racists!

The racism comes from the left.  They used race to get an unqualified, inexperienced, egomaniac elected President of the USA.  He is the most arrogant specimen I have ever seen, and the worst excuse for a leader of a Constitutional, Representative Republic--America!

Obama took an oath--TWICE--to protect, preserve, and uphold our constitution.  He then proceeded to break the oath he took, disregard the constitution, the law, legal contracts, our free market economy, and insult our country & the American way of life!

Supreme Court Justices, AND members of Congress also take the oath!  If Sotomayor is confirmed, she will take the oath and immediately break it.  Why would Obama choose Sotomayor?  Because, in his own words, she holds the same values and opinions as he does.

Our once free nation has become a dictatorship.  Whatever Barack Obama decides he wants to do, is done.  Listen to his words when he speaks!  Chillingly similar words were spoken by Adolph Hitler.

Obama is determined to "remake" America, and the Constitution.  He has said so, literally.  If he gets the Supreme Court he wants, his agenda can be CONSTITUTIONALIZED, and there will be NOTHING that American voters can do to correct the unethical, immoral, illegal, unconstitutional policies he is implementing.

Now, I said that Republican members of Congress should fear Republican voters.  Why would I say this?  Because when we see our elected representatives rolling over for Obama, "reaching out" across the aisle, use that hateful term "bipartisan," and refuse to stand on principle, we become angry and disillusioned.

When we see you guys go along with the global hoax of man-caused climate change; when we see you help write legislation to appropriate OUR MONEY based on carbon dioxide of all things...well...

How much do we think our vote matters?  After all, at this point there isn't much difference between Democrats and Republicans, is there?  Not when people like Colin Powell and John McCain are admired and praised.  INDEPENDENT, AND MODERATE simply mean coward in my book.

People in these categories are not willing to take a stand on anything.  They rely on polls, try to see which way the political wind is blowing, and try to suck up to everybody.

When they make a statement, or cast a vote on the floor, they say and do what is "expedient," not what is right.  How would they know what is right?  They don't have values and principles to stand on and defend.

Fear the Republican base, fear those of us who see what was once our party, fund candidates who run as Republicans, then vote with Democrats on every issue!

Fear us, because we will not support such a party financially.  And, we will not show up to vote when there is no difference between candidates.  Candidates, I may add, who, once elected, cease to abide by the planks on the party platform--and cease to support the Republican volunteers and voters who got them elected!

Fear US!  Don't fear Obama, and don't fear the Independents and Moderates who don't share our values, and probably never even read the Constitution.
