As usual, every day I feel compelled to communicate in some manner with Senator Harry Reid. It's so sad: Harry is one of my Senators, his son Rory Reid, is my County Commissioner, and Dina Titus is my Congresswoman! How blessed can I be? Here goes:
Dear Senator Reid:
How in the world can you stand in front of Nevadans and tout the benefits of "renewable" energy? All I have heard from Democrats in the past is how "we must preserve our fragile desert ecosystem," "Nevada is not a wasteland," and other idiotic talking points.
Tell the truth! Tell Nevadans how wind, solar, and geothermal sources will abolutely not meet our energy needs. If these alternative energy sources were viable, investors would be lined up around the block getting in on the technology. TELL THE TRUTH, SENATOR REID. TELL NEVADANS THAT THESE UNRELIABLE, COSTLY, AND INEFFICIENT SOURCES WILL RUN OUR ECONOMY INTO THE GROUND.
Without taxpayer subsidization, none of these so-called job creators would have a prayer. They will not provide us with jobs, or energy, because very soon there will be no revenue to prop them up. We will all be bankrupt.
If you really wanted to act in the best interests of Nevada, and the rest of the nation, you would push for nuclear power plants, and opening up Yucca Mountain for the purpose it was constructed. You would bargain with the federal government on behalf of Nevada, for benefits associated with accepting nuclear waste.
Thousands of people are ready to go to work, and want Yucca Mountain to open. Thousands of people would have been employed, building coal-fired power plants! Instead, these projects have been scrapped. The result? Unemployment and increases in electricity costs for Nevadans.
California could be out of the red, and their economic disaster could be fixed in FIVE MINUTES, if they could collect royalties by ALLOWING EXPANDED OFF-SHORE DRILLING, AND CONSTRUCTING REFINERIES.
I have never heard a bigger pack of lies told by ANYONE, until this Democrat Congress and Barack Obama came into power. And power is what you are all about.
And as for the Department of the Interior, all of a sudden, 670,000 acres in NEVADA have been released for solar panels? Our precious, fragile, desert ecosystem? Nobody is permitted to ride their motorcycle on this land, for fear that vegetation and tortoises will be hurt. HOGWASH. It is all lies--from the environment to energy to health care.
How can you do this to us? I read the EPA report that EPA suppressed. I am a chemist, a scientist. A consensus is when a group of people decide where they will eat lunch that day! Real science is not based on popular opinion or political agendas. This is a crime, and you all are violating our constitution by forcing the entire nation to adopt the policies created in the State of California!
Please! They are bankrupt because of these policies and regulations. None of the other 49 states had the opportunity to vote for or against candidates and ballot measures in CA. This is taxation without representation!
You all will discover in 2010, that what you are forcing upon the American people is NOT what they want. If they were educated about what Cap and Trade, and Universal Health Coverage really will mean to them, they would come unglued.
Believe me, I am working EVERY SINGLE DAY to educate them. I do not support any of this wasteful spending and government control over my life. I urge you to come back down to earth, and vote NO on all of it. You MAY live to regret it if you don't.
You were able to prosper and achieve because of the opportunities living in a free nation provided you. Who are you to deny young people the same opportunities to strive, work hard, struggle, and succeed? You deny them the opportunities you had, saddle them and their children (future children), with a horrible debt. THEY ARE NOT EVEN OLD ENOUGH TO VOTE YET!
Why do you think you are, to behave this way, and squander everything America stands for? As for "help" being available to homeowners who owe more on their mortgages than their homes are worth--SOMEHOW THOSE OF US WHO HAVE PERFECT CREDIT, PAY EVERY BILL ON TIME, DO NOT HAVE CREDIT CARD DEBT, AND ARE GOING THROUGH OUR SAVINGS--DOING WITHOUT, IN ORDER TO HONOR OUR OBLIGATIONS--WILL IN NO WAY BENEFIT FROM ANY PROGRAM.
Why is is so important to keep irresponsible people who bought big-screen TVs, charge up a storm, and go on vacations, in houses they have nothing invested in? People like me, who are responsible, are the ones who will lose! We are having to pay for the deadbeats. And you would steal from us, to buy votes from those dependent upon us.
For shame, Harry Reid!
